Abortion Is Murder - 1062 Words

ABORTION IS MURDER â€Å"There are nearly 1.2 million abortions performed in the United States each year† (Operation Rescue, 2014). That was 1.2 million innocent lives that were ended before they even had a chance to begin. Abortion has been legal for decades now, and it is time to put a stop to all the murdering of unborn children. This senseless killing of an unborn child needs to be recognized for what it truly is, and that is legalized murder. Abortions should be made illegal in the United States because it is taking the life of an innocent person, there are other options out there and lastly abortions are not only harming the unborn child but also cause harm to the mother. Abortions should be illegal because they are murder. The definition of Abortion is â€Å"a medical procured used to terminate a pregnancy and results in the death of the fetus, or embryo† (Webster, n.d.). The definition of murder is† the crime of deliberate killing of a human† (Webster, n.d.). So there for getting an abortion is logically murder. Science has proven that the life of a human begins at conception, so when a surgeon performs an abortion it should be considered murder! If everyone else who commits murder goes to jail, then why should not the doctors who perform the life ending procedure? Or the mother that ok’s the procedure? They are doing the same thing as the person on the street who just shot and killed someone. They are both ending a human life and both should face the same consequences.Show MoreRelatedAbortion: Is It Murder?1524 Words   |  7 PagesAbortion is an extremely controversial issue and one that many people can have very strong feelings for on both sides of the debate. Originally, we planned to take the train to Pulau Pinang but they were out of tickets due to the festive celebration. So we took the bus instead. On our way there, the bus made a pit stop at Tapah. Most of my friends went down because it was just so cold on the bus but I decided to stay in. As the bus started to continue the journey to Pulau Pinang, I realised that my friends were not on the bus. And then I received a phone call from one of my friends saying that they were left behind. I quickly went to the driver to ask him to pull over so that my friends could catch up and get on the bus. Luckily, they were not too far behind. The journey took about six hours due to heavy rain. We reached Butterworth at around dawn. After that, we had to take the ferry to cross over to other side to get to Batu Ferringhi, Pulau Pinang. We were all really excited to finally arrive in Pulau Pinang but exhausted at the same time because of the long journey. So we decided to straightaway go to the guest house and check in. We spent the rest of the afternoon getting some rest before heading out to the beach which is just in front of the place we were staying at. After enjoying the view and playing some volleyball at the beach, we went for dinner at Gurney Drive. There was a wide variety of food to choose from. Each and every one of us bought different kinds of food then we exchange with each other and taste them. The food there was very delicious and tasty. We even took away some, in case we get hungry later. Then all of us went for a walk at the Ferringhi Night Market. There were so many tourists walking around too. We stopped by Sixty Nine Mansion to have some drinks before we head back to our guest house. The next day we checked out around noon and we took a train back home. We reached Kuala Lumpur safely later that night. In conclusion of our short trip to Pulau Pinang, it was truly a memorable experience. Pulau Pinang is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in Malaysia. Pulau Pinang is also an exciting place to visit because it has so many attractions to offer. There are so many things to see and so many other things to do. All in all, Pulau Pinang is surely an amazing place to go for a short trip or vacation. The French Revolution, The American Civil War and the Rise of the Nazi Regime free essay sample

A comparative paper showing the history of all three of these monumental events and how they affected the world. The paper follows the events leading up to and during the course of the French Revolution, the American Civil War and Hitlers Nazi Partys rise to power. The paper shows how, in all three cases, the events were inevitable and at times, like in the case of Hitlers Mein Kampf, even predicted long before they actually happened. The events preceding the French Revolution, the American Civil War, and the Nazis rise to power were prophetic. As stated earlier, the Founding Fathers who wrote the U.S. Constitution knew that the issue of slavery would become a problem in future generations, yet the wording within the Constitution wasnt replaced at the time. King Louis XVI, an ineffective leader consumed by his own luxurious lifestyle, learned too late that the people of his country had the right to equality, to work, and to something as simple as bread. It Seems Unfair, It Seems Unkind, That He Should Go And Leave Us Behin

It seems unfair, it seems unkind, that he should go and leave us behind. He was with us, he was our friend, we never dreamed that it would end. But we have learned, but we will say, that every chance we must seize the day, for time is precious, time is short, and to his family we offer comfort. Sometimes we'll miss him, sometimes we'll cry, and often we will wonder why. But God does care, but God has a plan, even when we don't understand. -Brittany *Shorty B*

Ismenes Monologue From Antigone

She also warns that Antigone’s fate and her own might be worse if they disobey the laws of the land. She is at once melancholy, fearful, and diplomatic. Context of the Monologue Within the Play The brothers of Ismene and Antigone battle for control of Thebes. Both perish. One brother is buried as a hero. The other brother is deemed a traitor to his people. When the corpse of Antigone’s brother is left to rot out on the battlefield, Antigone is determined to set things right, even if it means defying the laws of King Creon. Her sister Ismene is not as headstrong. She is sad for the death and dishonor of her brother. However, she does not want to risk her life by upsetting the â€Å"powers that be.† Ismenes Monologue Bethink thee, sister, of our fathers fate,Abhorred, dishonored, self-convinced of sin,Blinded, himself his executioner.Think of his mother-wife (ill sorted names)Done by a noose herself had twined to deathAnd last, our hapless brethren in one day,Both in a mutual destiny involved,Self-slaughtered, both the slayer and the slain.Bethink thee, sister, we are left alone;Shall we not perish wretchedest of all,If in defiance of the law we crossA monarchs will?- weak women, think of that,Not framed by nature to contend with men.Remember this too that the stronger rules; We must obey his orders, these or worse. Therefore I plead compulsion and entreatThe dead to pardon. I perforce obeyThe powers that be. Tis foolishness, I ween,To overstep in aught the golden mean.
